Designing and operating efficient and sustainable transport systems constitutes one of the major challenges of today's society. We develop innovative methodologies to help address this challenge.

Emma Frejinger is the holder of two research chairs: Canada Research Chair in Demand Forecasting Optimization of Transport Systems and  CN Chair in Optimization of Railway Operations. The common aim of the research activities is to develop new methodologies to solve real large-scale problems that cannot be solved with state-of-the-art methods. The focus lies on problems related to the design and operation of transport systems. The methodologies we develop lie at the intersection between the fields of operations research and statistical learning.
